Although my two days in Zambia were short, they were quite packed with fun and memorable experiences! This trip was part of my grandpa’s 75th birthday celebration safari in 2014, which included 16 of my family members! Here are the highlights of my time in Zambia!
Victoria Falls (Livingston)
One side of the glorious Victoria Falls is on the Zambian border (the other side is in Zimbabwe). I got to get up close and personal with this majestic waterfall, and it was amazing! Make sure to wear study, water-friendly shoes if you’re going to venture as close as I did…my guide actually gave me his shoes because mine were so flimsy. Definitely worth the adventure!
Elephant Ride
Do I really need to explain what makes an Elephant Ride a highlight of my time in Zambia? I rode an elephant! It was really fun, and there was a little baby elephant romping around with us. Adorable. Just do this if you can (I think you need to be at least 10 years old, so families take note).
Zambezi River Cruise
We all hopped aboard a Cruise on the Zambezi River. Drinks and snacks included, plus a little venture onto an island that was technically part of Zimbabwe (I guess we illegally crossed the border?). This was the perfect end to a wonderful trip. Definitely check this out if you’re in Zambia!
