I think those of you who have followed me for a while, or even for just a few weeks, know that I like food. A lot. This weekend I ate a lot of food with some wonderful people!
I had to head down to Torrance for a meeting with my favorite client. Afterwards, she turned to my manager and me and asked if we wanted to go out to lunch nearby, so we headed to her recommendation, “Great Maple.” It was a lovely place to go on a Friday afternoon, and their menu was all fresh and seasonal. I opted for their turkey burger, which had brie, arugula, and a caramelized onion marmalade. Divine!
After lunch, I worked a bit before heading back to the valley to meet up with Adam. We decided to go to “House of Galbi” in Encino, where I’d been before with my taekwondo friends. It was very delicious, and we marveled at how much more crowded the restaurant got after 9pm. We then went home and finished The Handmaid’s Tale (any new TV show recs are welcome). A very solid night!
After a fun morning taekwondo workout, I headed over to “Granville” in Studio City for brunch with my sorority sisters! There were nine of us, both alums and actives, and it was so much fun! Afterwards, I headed back to my parents house for many hours of laundry and a much-needed nap, like a true adult. Then that night, Adam and I headed to “Take a Bao,” a delicious bao restaurant in Studio City. I’m always up for a good food pun. Try their pork belly bao, it’s my favorite!
My latest favorite workout is Orangetheory, and if you haven’t tried it yet, I can’t recommend it enough! My morning started with a 9am class in Sherman Oaks, and then I headed over the hill to “Coral Tree Cafe” in Brentwood to have a delicious brunch with my grand-little Jordyn! She is moving to LA very soon, and I am beyond excited for our many adventures (guys, she’s a Disney and Harry Potter lover too, so I expect many theme park trips). Hilariously, Adam was having brunch with his friends at a restaurant right next door, so we said a quick hello!
Afterwards, we headed to Adam’s family’s house for a yummy dinner! Adam and I picked up from “Tel Aviv Grill,” my favorite Israeli restaurant! The second you walk in there, you feel like you’re in Israel. We enjoyed our meal, as I got to know Adam’s family a bit more.
Overall, a great and mostly relaxing weekend!
