Do Our Mothers Know That We’re Out?

Mamma Mia is, and will always be, one of my favorite musicals. So I couldn’t pass up on seeing it live for a third time!

When I was about 8 or 9 years old, my parents took me to the Pantages to see Mamma Mia for the first time. Maybe not the best idea, but most of the plot went over my head and I just enjoyed the music. Then, when I was in London for the first time, I saw the musical again, and loved it even more! So when Devon suggested that we get a group of girls together to see Mamma Mia at the Hollywood Bowl, my answer was a resounding “HELL YES.”

There were six ladies total for the evening: Devon, Mel, Melissa, Danelle, KP and me. Devon picked up a small catering box from “Mendocino Farms,” we shared five bottles of wine, and Melissa and I picked up some candy from my favorite Swedish candy shop, “Sockerbit,” which obviously fit the evening well.

It was absolutely amazing! With some famous names taking the stage (Corbin Bleu, Jaime Camil, Dove Cameron, and Lea Delaria), we were entertained for hours. The alcohol certainly didn’t hurt my enjoyment either.

At intermission, I ran to the concession stand to secure some light-up flower crowns. The crown helped me indulge my flower-child fantasy, and will come in handy for future Disney days and/or costumes.

Great friends, music and wine. One of the best nights I’ve had in a very long time. Can’t wait for the next one!

Upcoming musicals/plays I’ll definitely be seeing: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime on August 9th, Legally Blonde: the Musical on August 18th, The Red Shoes on September 27th, and HAMILTON ON OCTOBER 11TH YESSSSSSS. (Some more may pop up as well, stay tuned).
