Rosé All Day

My company had our summer outing in Newport Beach, and it was an amazing day!

Once a year, the LA and Orange County offices at my company get together for a fun half-day off to relax and bond with one another. This year’s outing was in Newport Beach, and it was such a fun day!

img_9777I carpooled down with my coworker Jaemi and we arrived at the first location of the afternoon: “Rusty Pelican.” The twenty or so of us all sat down and raised a glass to a fun day! I ordered a passion fruit mojito, which was delicious.

Now, I’m going to give this place the benefit of the doubt and say that their service is probably not always this slow, but since we were a very large party, it was difficult. However, that being said, it took an hour and a half from the time we sat down to get our food–a bit ridiculous in my opinion. The funniest (read: not that funny because we were all getting hangry) part was that when the waiter came with the tray of food, he only brought over ONE PLATE AT A TIME. I understandably got frustrated.

Not wanting this bad service to ruin my afternoon, I brushed it off and prepared for our next activity: Duffy Boats! Duffy boats are self-operated motor boats with large tables in the middle. We split into two groups (as they only fit 12 people maximum) and headed out on the marina! It was such a fun activity, and I hope that I’ll be able to rent one again in the future! We popped open some bottles of rosé and played music on the water for two hours. So lovely!

We ended at 4:30pm, a terrible time to try and battle traffic back to LA. So we headed to location #3: “Ecco Pizzeria.” We all once again got cocktails (sangria for me) and shared some food items on their happy hour. Their pizza is absolutely delicious, and their bruschetta comes with BURRATA CHEESE. I was very happy.

An amazing day out with my coworkers! Can’t wait for the next fun outing!
