You guys. Danelle and I saw another musical. And it was not very good.
I think my loyal readers will know I’m always up for a musical. Danelle had an extra ticket to see The Bodyguard, a musical based on the movie of the same name starring Whitney Houston. But first, we eat. We happened upon “Greenleaf Gourmet Chopstop,” which we had thought was just a salad shop but turned out to be a fun little pizza and sandwich place! We shared their almond-crusted chicken sliders and hummus and pita chips. Both very yummy!
Then it was time for some drinks. We hopped over to “33 Taps,” and then realized we didn’t have as much time as we thought we did, so we had to chug our cocktails. Fortunately, this came in handy, as the musical was rather awful, and the alcohol helped to make the show palatable.
Don’t get me wrong, the music was great, because who doesn’t love a good Whitney Houston song? But the acting was just….awful. We made the most of it for sure, but we definitely spent the entire second half holding in our laughs. But, as always, we took some photos to remember the occasion, including my favorite one of us imitating the poster.
Here’s to the next musical! Danelle and I don’t have one officially on the books yet, but I’m sure we’ll find something…
