November 2016

Ahh, November, one of my favorite months! Friends, family, fun. Yes, I know I use the word “fun” a lot. Get over it. Here’s November 2016!

Tuesday, 11/1/2016: Emo Night

Ok, I know what you’re thinking. Everything this girl has said about herself hasn’t exactly screamed “emo.” But when your roommate and one of your best friends wants to go to Emo Night at the Echoplex in Silverlake for her birthday, you go. I felt just a little out of place, but overall had a pretty kickass night!

Thursday, 11/3/2016: Client Event #1
Here I am on the main stage in front of the Tournament House in Pasadena, with my coworkers Tanya and Shelcie!

One of the coolest things about my job is the amazing clients I get to work on! One of the newest ones i was added to was the Tournament of Roses, which you should know from the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl that both take place on New Year’s Day! I had the honor to attend this year’s announcement of the Grand Marshals, and is was truly amazing!

Saturday, 11/12/2016: Grandparents’ Anniversary and Friendsgiving
The happy couple 🙂

A jam-packed day! First up was my grandparents’ 55th anniversary! My uncle, aunt and cousins drove down from San Francisco for the special occasion, which took place in a private room at the Luxe Hotel in Beverly Hills. We played games, shared memories, and had a wonderful time!

Next up was a Friendsgiving potluck celebration in honor of Danelle’s birthday! Maria and I attended and made jalapeno cream sauce mac and cheese (courtesy of the Gilmore Girls cookbook) and cupcakes shaped like corn on the cob! We ate, we drank, we played more games, and had a wonderful time!

Thursday, 11/17/2016: Client Event #2
I love my client!

Once again, I have the coolest clients! This event was for Dolby, and more specifically, Dolby Cinema. Numerous AMC theaters around the country with Dolby Cinemas held a fan event for the movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Hundreds of Harry Potter fans were in attendance, some even in full costume, and they were giving away wand replicas of the film’s main character, Newt Scamander! I had the honor to attend the event with a few of our social media influencers, and, fortunately, there was an extra ticket for me to see the film! If you have yet to go to a Dolby Cinema, I highly encourage you go. I firmly stand behind my client’s amazing technology!

Saturday, 11/19/2016: Hedwig and the Angry Inch
Guys, her dessert is a hidden Mickey!

I may or may not have mentioned this before, but I love Darren Criss. Actually, I know I’ve mentioned it before, when I saw The Little Mermaid Live. But anyway, when I saw he was going to be the title character in the LA performance of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, I begged Danelle to let me take her extra ticket. Before the show, I treated Danelle to brunch at “Off Vine” for her birthday! We gorged on their breakfast quesadilla, one of the most unique dishes I’ve ever eaten and for dessert we had to get their signature souffle! When we couldn’t decide if we wanted a chocolate or raspberry souffle, our waiter said we could do both. Obviously we did that, and it was incredible.

img_7485We then walked a few blocks to the Pantages Theatre for the show! For those that haven’t seen it before, I will give you a tip: it’s a one-act show done in the style of a rock concert, and I highly recommend you read some sort of synopsis of the show beforehand so you don’t get too lost. Overall, it was very different and fun. Not my favorite show I’ve ever seen, but very unique and Darren was AMAZING. Unfortunately he didn’t come to stage door so I didn’t get to meet the love of my life, but I push forward.

Thursday, 11/24/2016: Thanksgiving

My favorite holiday! Family+food=the best combination. Not too much more to say about this day, except that my family is the best 🙂

Sunday-Monday, 11/27-28/2016: Lauren in Town

img_7512My amazing college friend Lauren came to visit me for a couple days, so I needed to show her a good time! She arrived in the afternoon and we had an early dinner at one of my favorites, “Mercado,” and then hopped across the street to The Grove for drinks at “Mixology 101.” With a good buzz, we called it a night, as the next day was going to be a busy one!

I took the day off from work and we headed to my home away from home, Universal Studios! I was very excited for what would be my sixth time in the park in just six months. You may mock me, but each time is a unique experience, since I go with different people. But hey, mock all you want. You’re just jealous you’re not as much of a child as I am!

After riding the rides, we headed back to my apartment to prepare to Musical Monday at Rage! Lauren is also a big musical fan, and it was so much fun to watch her experience MuMo for the first time! Sadly Lauren had to leave on Tuesday morning, but I was so glad she was able to visit!

Overall, an amazing month of November! Now here’s to closing out 2016 with a bang!
