As I’m sure you’re aware, the Olympics opening ceremony occurred on August 5, and they are just now winding down. But I celebrated the opening ceremony with great friends and food!

My good friend Mason was in town for the weekend before moving to London for a year at the end of the month. He obviously requested to see all of us, and what better way than to watch the opening ceremony and provide hilarious commentary? Mason provided us with a “make your own quesadilla” bar, an idea that I will surely steal from him, and we ate and commented on the intriguing nature of the performances and the outfits of each team. My favorite line of the evening was when Chelsea asked how they choose who gets to hold the flags and Mason, without skipping a beat, responded with, “A very large game of musical chairs.” Here’s hoping I somehow get the opportunity to visit him as he works abroad this next year!
