When You’re the D.D.

Every once in a while, you have to pay your dues and be the designated driver for your friends. So this was my latest experience.

Saturday, 7/30/2016

I woke up somewhat early to go on a nice walk with my trainer Erik and his dogs. Erik is one of the most insightful and positive people I know, and I was in the need of a good venting session, so our 3.5-mile walk along the LA River was the perfect Saturday morning. We then grabbed a quick coffee from my favorite valley brunch spot, “Aroma Coffee and Tea” before I headed back to get ready for Melissa’s birthday party.

My friend Melissa was having a joint birthday party with three of her coworkers, all of whom invited their own friends. Not knowing how late we’d be staying at this party, I opted not to drink, which is always an interesting situation to be in when everyone around you is drunk. It was nice to meet some new people and chill in a relaxed environment.

After the party, I headed home and plopped into bed for a good night’s rest!
