Yet another one of my coworkers is leaving, so it was obviously time for another work happy hour! The exclamation point is in reference to the happy hour, not the coworker leaving, I promise.
My coworkers and I all agreed it’s horribly sad that the only times we all go out together are when someone is leaving. One of my supervisors, Jen, is leaving the PR field for good, so we had a big lunch at “Wood Ranch” with all of our coworkers. Despite my large workload for the day, it was nice to get out of the office and have a change for the lunch hour. My family will frequently order in from Wood Ranch when we all get together, so I knew it would be delicious. I got their BBQ Chopped Salad with tri-tip, and was not disappointed.
After work, a few of us headed to “Mercado,” which has a really great happy hour! I ordered a hibiscus margarita (just the one this time, as my birthday got me a little too tipsy) and their carnitas tacos, which they are known for and definitely did not disappoint. There were 10 of us there, and even our old coworker Marla was able to join us! It was definitely a lot of fun, despite the reason we were all there. Jen has been a great mentor to me, so I’m very sad to see her go. Hopefully our next happy hour will be a bit happy-er (yes, I did that on purpose).
