June 2nd marked my first official night in my new apartment in West Hollywood! Maria and I spent a little time exploring our new neighborhood.
I left work and headed straight for my new apartment. It took less than 15 minutes to drive there, which was absolutely incredible compared to my previous 50-60 minute commute. My bed was delivered around 6pm, and once it was set up, Maria and I decided to grab some dinner. I had a BOGO coupon for “Greenspan’s Grilled Cheese,” and it was just a 15-minute walk from our new place, so we set out for Melrose.
It was a breezy walk down our new street towards the restaurant. We mentally noted all of the places we wanted to try as we walked down the street. We arrived at Greenspan’s, and each ordered a sandwich. With my coupon, it was less than $5 per person! I decided on “The Med,” while Maria enjoyed their “Johnny Apple Cheese.” Both were delicious, and I highly recommend you check it out. If you’re lucky like we were (and are also a fan of celebrity chefs like me), you’ll see the man himself, Eric Greenspan!
We then headed back to our apartment for Maria’s bed to be set up, and slept in our apartment for the first time!
Night #1 in our apartment was a success! I then woke up and headed to work much earlier than I needed to, as I forgot my commute was just 10 minutes. Once I was home, Mel, Devon and her boyfriend Sam came over to check out our new digs and to go out to dinner. We walked back on Melrose to a place Maria and I had passed the night before called “Snakepit Alehouse.” We wrangled a big table and placed our orders.
We shared some fun stories as we waited (and waited) for our food to finally arrive almost an hour later. I had ordered a custom burger, which was good but not amazing. If I were to go back, I would probably go earlier in the evening (we didn’t arrive until about 9pm). Overall, a fun evening!
Definitely glad to be trying some fun places in my new neighborhood! Stay tuned for more fun WeHo posts!
