What’s a Jew to do on Easter?

I definitely think the title of this post is way more clever than it actually is. Here’s how I spent Easter Sunday!

Sunday, 3/27/2016

I woke up earlier than I would’ve liked, as I was supposed to work. But I logged on and found out that someone else had me covered, and I had the whole day to do fun things!

I planned to meet up with my oldest friend (oldest as in the amount of years we’ve been friends, not oldest in age–Emilie and I have known each other our whole lives) Emilie for lunch, and since my time limit no longer existed, we were able to relax and enjoy each other’s company! Emilie lives in New York and comes to town every few months, so I was so glad we got to meet up. We headed to “On the Thirty” in Sherman Oaks right on Ventura Blvd. I went there in November with my friend Michelle and loved it, so I was eager to go back. What I was most excited about though was that it was open on Easter Sunday!

We ordered their margherita pizza, a goat cheese salad, and their parmesan truffle fries to share and talked about life. It was so nice to catch up with a good friend. I’m hoping that next time we meet up, it’ll be me visiting her in New York!

I spent the afternoon relaxing and catching up on TV shows. Then I got a text from Maria inviting a few friends over for Easter dinner. I headed over to her place, where she made a honey-glazed ham, potato salad, and roasted brussels sprouts–all amazing! We then all decorated some bunny-shaped cookies.

I’ve never actually celebrated Easter, but I’ve heard that a big part of it is spending time with people you care about, and I definitely did that this year. I hope everyone else’s Easter was equally as enjoyable as mine!
