Super Saturday

This title will make more sense around the middle of this post, I swear.

After the previous night’s shenanigans, I was exhausted but very excited for what my day had in store! First up was breakfast with my good friend Jessyca, a past visitor to the blog! We headed to “Sweet Butter Kitchen” in Sherman Oaks, a delicious brunch/lunch spot right on Ventura Blvd. I was lucky enough to get the metered spot right in front of the restaurant.

Jessyca ordered their banana nutella pancakes, which we both feasted on, as they were massive! We ate and caught up about life (she’s going on an epic adventure through Asia in the fallΒ and I’m so jealous!).

After stuffing my face, I headed home to get my dad because it was time for something that we both had been excited about for months: Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice! (Get it? SUPER Saturday? As in superheroes!) Yes, I’m a complete superhero nerd and so is my dad and we see all of the movies and watch all of the shows together.

You can’t tell, but I’m wearing my Batman shirt, because he’s my favorite!

We got the theater and settled in for the movie, which would be shown on 70mm film (we got a piece of the film reel as a nice souvenir). Despite the negative reviews, both of us thoroughly enjoyed the movie. No spoilers, but Wonder Woman is a total badass played by a total badass Israeli woman (Gal Gadot) and I love her.

When we returned home from the movie, I hopped back into my car to go see my friend Mason! He was in town for the first time in a few months, and invited a few of us over for some games! My favorite that we played was “Fishbowl,” a combination of Taboo and Charades, where quite a bit of hilarity ensued (acting out “Cards Against Humanity” cards while under a sheet, anyone?). A few hours went by before I headed back home, ate the other half of my breakfast burrito, watched TV, and fell asleep. Overall, a very successful and fun day!
