I’m always down for Mexican food, as I’m sure I’ve mentioned before, so a fancier evening out with a good friend for Mexican was obviously necessary.
I hadn’t hung out with my friend Melissa in a while, and she suggested we go to “Mercado” on 3rd Street, right near The Grove. I checked out the menu online ahead of time and knew that we had to check it out. If you go, make sure you make a reservation, because even on a Tuesday night, this place was packed! Luckily, Melissa was smart and found a reservation on OpenTable.
We started off with the Choriqueso, queso dip with bits of mushroom and chorizo in it. It was delicious, and I never would have thought to order it, but one of my coworkers raved about it! We also got their fish tacos, which were good but deceptively spicy, and their carne asade, which was incredible and came with a side of roasted corn! Melissa and I ate and caught up on life. It’s times like this that I feel like a real adult who goes to meet friends for dinner and/or drinks after work and I like it.
