So I have some of the coolest coworkers ever and we have a lot of fun together.

For the past few weeks, we’ve had a colleague from the Chicago office join us as part of an office exchange that is too difficult to explain in this post. All of us have been taking turns showing her around L.A. and making her visit memorable. When one of our coworkers suggested we attend trivia night, I knew I had to participate, despite the fact that it was a weeknight and I’m an old lady who goes to bed by 10:30.
After work, I headed to my coworker Molly’s house. We ended up going to “Father’s Office” on Venice Blvd. for dinner, a total L.A. staple. I hobbled in on my crutches and we found no seating available (you seat yourself there). Fortunately one of the waiters made a makeshift sitting area for us at the bar’s service station. It was very nice. We each got a beer (well, you know me, I got a cider), and we split their eggplant fritters, a burger and fries. I now know why this burger is so famous. We caught a Lyft after dinner and headed to the bar.

The trivia night was being held at “Bigfoot West,” right on Venice Blvd. in Culver City. The bar had happy hour until 9PM, right when the trivia started, so we had about a half hour left before it began. The 7 of us who attended drank and had a good time. The ballots were passed out, and we decided upon the hilarious team name “Fingers in da butt #Kanye” for reasons I really cannot explain. We did horribly, but I can proudly say that I answered all nerdy related questions (i.e. “What is the first word spoken in every episode of Star Trek?” and “What is the name of the ship piloted by Captain Malcolm Reynolds?” If you don’t know, the answers are “space” and “Serenity,” respectively).
Overall, it was a ton of fun and great to hang out with my coworkers outside of work. They’re really a great bunch, and I’m pretty lucky.
