Not really wanting to go all out this Halloween, I invited some friends over and we had a grand ol’ time!
I decided that for Halloween this year, I wanted to relax on my couch with some friends, order pizza, and watch some festive movies. Thankfully, I got a few friends to actually go along with this plan! Mel came over early and helped me get some food for the event (basically we bought cookies and fixings to make guacamole) and the we headed back to my house for a costumed photo shoot!
After going back and forth for weeks about what my costume would be, I had finally decided on Cruella de Vil, as my mom had a furry white coat for me to wear. However, upon entering my room and trying on my vest, Mel exclaimed, “You should totally be Han Solo!” We then found an old Nerf gun that my brother had, I put on a white shirt, black pants, and brown boots, and the outfit was complete! Definitely happy with what I chose, especially since it gave me an excuse to wear my Rebel Alliance necklace (slightly visible in the photo below).
Mel has recently gotten into Buffy, so while we waiting for other party-goers to arrive, we watched an episode…and ate about half of the guac. No shame. As we sat down to watch, we received our first and only trick-or-treaters of the night. So sad…
Then our friends Maria and Ryan came over, and were dressed in the epic couple costume of TJ and Spinelli from “Recess.” Always up for a good throwback costume! They provided some beer and cider for us to enjoy. We then ordered pizza and watched “Halloweentown 2: Kalabar’s Revenge,” a CLASSIC Halloween movie and don’t you dare try to argue with me on that one. Melissa arrived about halfway through the movie/pizza consumption in fancy clothes, as she came from a work event. We then proceeded to watch “Halloweentown High,” the third movie of the Halloweentown saga. It was wonderful.
Definitely a wonderfully chill and awesome Halloween! Not as action-packed as some of my other Halloween nights, but I think I preferred it. Good friends, good food, hilarious old school DCOMs: what could be better?
