It’s still Hanukkah, so I have still titled this post something Hanukkah-related. Although I really should call it something grosser… Sorry for this post being shorter than usual. I haven’t been feeling too well.
Day 102: Thursday, 12/18/2014
I woke up feeling kind of sick, so work was a little bit of a struggle to get through. Natalie and I went and got dinner that evening, which was very nice. I came back and lit candles for night #3. Nothing else to report.
Day 103: Friday, 12/19/2014
Friday was not eventful, except for the fact that I watched a bunch of movies I hadn’t seen yet. I lit candles again. Happy day #4.
Day 104: Saturday, 12/20/2014
I woke up and changed the sheets on my bed, only to discover mold behind my bed. MOLD. I looked up and found mold all around my room, and subsequently around my apartment. EWWW. Luckily, it is not the deadly kind of mold, so it’s just gross. I sadly lost 2 pairs of shoes to the mold, though. RIP, my Toms and my ballet flats…
I went and got dinner with Daniel, and I commiserated about my problems. He is an excellent listener and a great friend for dealing with me. He would be rolling his eyes right now. Anyway, it was nice to get out of the mold-infested apartment and hang out with him.
When I got home, I obviously had to call my parents to tell them what was going on. This meant I got to light Hanukkah candles with them!
It was really funny to sing the blessings with my dad over FaceTime, because there was a definite delay. Both of us were trying to match the other’s pace. It was nice to hear his singing voice though! Definitely miss having Shabbat with a real Cantor in the house 🙂
When the rest of my roommates got home, they somewhat freaked out about the mold. I tried to stay calm during the whole ordeal. I fell asleep and actually dreamt of mold. Ew.
The mold problem will hopefully be taken care of by tomorrow at the latest, although my faith in this country’s customer service is not very strong, for obvious reasons. I will update you as soon as I know more.
